It was great to again meet face-to-face after a two-year absence caused by Covid-19 and the imposed government restrictions. The AGM in May 2019 was the last time such a meeting was possible.
It was disappointing to have 6 cancellations prior to the Wednesday of the AGM, adding a further 4 very late withdrawals through Covid/influenza. So, on the night, we had just 36 people present. However, it was a fabulous night with 11 new member inductions, with 7 of these present.
Patron-in-Chief Daryl Brooks opened the evening with his report, detailed in the 2022 AGM Report booklet. He welcomed Principal Dr Tony Mordini, the outgoing MHSOBA President Peter Stathopoulos and the incoming MHSOBA President Mr Colin Axup, wishing them well for the year ahead.
Following the AGM (Minutes attached), new members were inducted. Dr Tony Mordini followed with an outline of his vision for the school heading towards its Centenary at Forrest Hill in 2027.
New inductee Grant Johansen delivered the Occasional Address which followed very much along the theme of Tony Mordini’s address.
Many pictures were taken, some of which follow in this report.
Let’s all try to make the next Forum, slated for Tuesday 18 October.
