For distinguished service in the appointments of Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army in the Pacific, Deputy Chief of Joint Operations and Commander Forces Command. Lieutenant General Bilton’s exceptional strategic leadership and diplomacy has strengthened Defence’s relationships with our major allies and regional partners across the Indo-Pacific region, prepared Army for the introduction of new and transformative capabilities and led the modernisation of Army’s training. His actions have significantly contributed to the advancement of Australia’s national interests. His service represents the highest ideals of the Australian Defence Force and reflects great credit upon himself and the Australian Army.

Owner/operator of Sandringham Veterinary Hospital, instrumental in the formation of the Australian Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS) in 1990, an early member, completing the first exam intake, and becoming it’s first examiner in 1994, subsequently a life member. Completed the American Veterinary Dental College Diploma. Introduced veterinary dentistry to Melbourne University’s Vet Science Course. Worked pro bono at the Melbourne Zoo for 20 years, awarded a Zoo and Wildlife Fellowship in 2017.
